New Moon - Solar Eclipse

In about 2 weeks, for the first time since February 26, 1979, there will be a total solar eclipse visible over the United States.

This one, occurring on August 21st at 2:30 p.m. EDT, will be seen in a 70 mile wide band that crosses the USA from West to East, beginning in Lincoln Beach, Oregon at 9:05 a.m. PDT. The total eclipse will begin there at 10:16 a.m. PDT. It will then cross over the US through Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and finally North and South Carolina.
